When wildlife decides to come in the house, a member of the rodent family in this case, they are vermin and should be treated as such.
The cheapest professional method allowable under local bylaws should be used get rid of them. |

If you get into any insurance claim watch what you call them.
We had an issue where some racoons got into a vehicle and chewed the seats causing major damage. They asked if they were vermin and said they didn't cover vermin damage. And did we let the Racoons live in the vehicle ? But racoons are not considered vermin and we did not let them live there. The animal had peeled back the tonneau cover and went in so we were covered. Not sure on where it would go if squirrel damage was claimed. |

Re: Getting rid of squirrels in the atticSo I had a guy come out today and he'll take care of them. Not a bad price ($360) for all the work, which includes some sheet metal work in a spot where mesh would allow snow and rain in because of the size of the hole. So we should be squirrel-free and further damage prevented by tomorrow afternoon!
Thanks for all the advice and suggestions, folks! |

On Sunday morning we awoke to some very angry squirrels trying to get back in. Since then, we've heard nothing on the roof or in the attic. By golly! This might have worked!! He'll be coming out later this week to remove the one-way door and screen over that hole. |

More than one?, just as well that they are outside, had you left them your attic would have been an extreme mess. Even in a cold winter they routinely wake up from hibernation and forage around. |

They've (presumably it's more than one) definitely been active. |
