Everest College

Damn. The better half was browsing last night and came across a program she had an interest in, she already has a 3 year diploma but in the wrong field so she wanted to know a little more and in order to do so had to submit a phone number along with the usual contact information. Now, as lame as that is most would give a bogus # in order to be emailed the info...the better half did not and must have been fairly tired to even bother pursuing a request for information that required one to divulge personal information in order to get the skinny of the program. Her mistake, she knew it too but made it anyways.

So the phone calls began today, 8:03AM was the first. The 11th ended at 8:07PM...she finally answered, told them whatever interest she may have had was now OVER, and to never call again. These desperate souls called very single hour, all day. The reply on the other end? "Ok, sorry have a nice day"...I almost feel sorry for whoever has to scratch together a living calling someone 11 times over a 12 hour period and if anyone from the "college" is reading this, you are fucking pathetic and your business model sucks.

My ex used to work for CDI / Everest... Fortunately not in admissions.

The quality of the actual education, and the job placement is actually pretty good. (At least in the health care side, not as familiar with the technology side of the business)

The admissions team, however, is a totally different story. The staff is paid commission, and has closing rates to meet... If they don't perform, they are out the door. The leads come from head office/ call centers, which would explain the multiple calls; different recruiters chasing a buck.

Everest seems to have been harassing people for a long time.

Yup. A good friend of mine was let go from Everest admissions because he refused to take the very approach described here. He thought well of the school (for the most part) but couldn't stomach their business/recruitment model. It's corporately driven with no regard for local or reasonable sensitivities.

Aside from any questions of moral right or wrong, calling someone [every hour] is just plain stupid.

It can't possibly succeed as a business model.

It's stalking.

I don't care about their morality, but I can't abide stupidity....
