[Connectivity] Recent Routing Issues (Possibly IPv6 related)

I originally posted this in the Official COMCAST Forums, but I thought I would post it here too in case someone is experiencing the same type of issue or has any suggestions:

Equipment
Modem: Ubee DOC 3.0 Leased Modem.
Router: Airport Extreme

1st Post

For the past few days I have been experiencing intermittent internet connection issues. Everything seems to work and then I experience periods of no connectivity. A reboot of my cable modem is not surefire fix, although sometimes it does help.

When I perform a trace route, I have no issues with connectivity from my Cable Modem to the Comcast backbone, but it always stops on a x.ibone.comcast.net address.

There is no mention of a system wide issue, although I can see from other threads that the issue is seems to be effecting many users.

Here are several failed trace routes:

Any suggestions on how to report this? My experience is they always want to blame the CPE Modem, etc.

2nd Post

My connection was fine all day, and then suddenly I am getting stuck again at marietta.ga.ibone.comcast.net.

I don't know if they are turning up IP6 in the South Florida area, but I notice that my dns fluctuates between IP4 and IP6 DNS servers.

I did go to the Comcast IP6 test site and these were my results:

Your IPv4 address on the public internet appears to be xxxxxx
Your IPv6 address on the public internet appears to be xxxxxxxxxx

World IPv6 day is June 8th, 2011. No problems are anticipated for you with this browser, at this location. [tech details] Congratulations! You appear to have both IPv4 and IPv6 internet working. If a publisher publishes to IPv6, your browser will connect using IPv6. Note: Your browser appears to prefer IPv4 over IPv6 when given the choice. This may in the future affect the accuracy of sites who guess at your location. Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have IPv6 internet access.

Pompano area has been enabled for IPv6 for over a year now. So no new turn-up, once your turned up you should be good unless there is an outage.

Oh and IPv4\IPv6 are two different protocols, so they can go thru the same routers but one shouldn't brake the other. Think of it as a two lane highway with concrete barrier, unless a car goes over the barrier one shouldn't affect the other.

I see the drops out of the ibone that your seeing so I will contact some people on this one.

Last what is the URL of the comcast forum you submitted to?
