Changing channels slow in Queens, NY

Anyone else having problems with slow changing of channels in Queens, NY past few days. And some "Please Wait."
Today I turned on the TV and only the TV came on. The box would not turn on. I had to remove plug and then put plug back in and then everything began to work okay.
Anyone else have similar happenings past couple of days?
