Re: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot 2013

If anything this has kept my electricity on. Last Tuesday and tomorrow ComEd was going to do some Maint. that would have had our power out for about 4 hrs, it has been cancelled both times.

My mom just went out and measured the snow on the picnic table in our backyard. We got 4 inches so far, and its still coming down at a really good rate.

NOT TODAY!!!

My two stage ariens stopped working.
The handle that I press to drive forward or reverse is all loose.
Right before that it would engage the wheels as soon as I touched it, now it's loose, has no resistance at all.

Not good.

1 edit

I got the snowblower fixed.

There was a pin that came loose holding the assembly together.
So now when I push down on the lever it moves this big rod into a thing with a spring to engage the gears.

WOOT!

Finished the neighbors driveway, helped another one, and then did a final sweep of ours.

I didn't get to mine today either. Trying to decide if I even want too. The forecast shows upper 30's low 40's for the next 10 days. It'll be gone in a few days.

I'm not going to be able to get out of my driveway if I don't do it.

God bless my neighbor who came by with his snowblower tonight to do my front sidewalk, as usual.

I "worked" from home today, so I was able to get out 3 times and clear the driveway and sidewalk. On the last trip the plow had come past and deposited a nice pile in the driveway, but the beast gnawed through it just fine.

There's 5-6" of accumulation on the patio furniture on the deck, and a fair amount of drifting nastiness. Fortunately not getting very cold tonight... nothing worse than frozen packed slush to make the commute an adventure.

Looked out my window this morning and saw the mailbox I put up this past summer on the ground. I was pissed. Post and brackets were at least still in place though. Ran out a while ago and when I got home, two guys in a Dupage public works truck were bolting a shiny new mailbox to the post. Nice
