If someone hacked my account, Diablo III is worthless, but on World of Warcraft I've got many high level toons and am GM of a 25 Alliance and a 23 Horde guild with about a million gold on my banking toon. I got this response from the Blizzard support ticket - Thanks for your patience! This is in response to an online Compromise web form that you submitted for this account. Even if you didn't intend to report a compromise, I've reviewed your ticket thoroughly - and after having dived into our logs of your account, Im happy to inform you that the account does not appear to have been accessed by an unauthorized user. |

And after the Blizzard support reply, I tried again this morning and got locked out once more. Again I'm resetting. This is getting so old. |

No, Blizzard send me one, but I never used it. |

It should be a matter of policy that no one gives a damn about any sort of suspicious activity/hacking on your account if you don't use an authenticator. |

I umm have a password, phone number, credit card and what not on file with Blizzard. They should be able to tell who I am. A robot call to verify it's me to my registered phone number should be sufficient to prove identity. |

No, Pandora. Put the authenticator on your account or GTFO. That has been established best practice for years.
But go ahead with the "Blizzard should" attitude and see how far it gets you. |

So playing the game I bought with just a password and email account annoys you? Hmm... You misunderstand. I don't care how you play the game. I get annoyed that you come in here and ask for advice on how to avoid having your account locked, you get what is considered a Best Practice (use two-factor authentication), and then pompously declares that it's Blizzard's fault--not your own--for failing to identify you. Moreover, my own personal experience contradicts your preconceived idea--I travel a lot for work, and have no problem logging into WoW, D3, or SC2 from all across the United States, and even outside the United States. But no, Blizzard should change how it identifies users because you think so. That's what annoys me--you ignore the (free) options out there for securing your account, and blame the company when you get hacked/locked. |

Or just ask Blizzard to let me play Diablo III as I've played all the other Blizzard games without trouble for years. Most sites just want email and password. Until this Diablo III problem, it's all Blizzard wanted. I'm not certain an authenticator would solve the current problem anyway. |

Re: [D3] I get locked out of my account when trying to play D3OK, I'm done here. Your attitude is all to common among users who ignore the best security practices than scream at Blizzard when they get hacked.
Authenticator or GTFO. |

The Authenticator is a proven method to prevent unauthorized access to you battle.net account. I used the free iOS authenticator app (which uses 8 characters as opposed to the 6 character little device) and never had ANY account issues.
If you aren't smart enough to protect your own account then you are putting yourself in a position to be hacked or have your account compromised. You can't blame Blizzard for providing you multiple means to secure your account and not using it. |
