All that Leafs fans ever ask is that their team deliver like they really care. Much, much, too often that has not been the case. Trust me, I've been there, at the ACC, in person to see the bitter disappointment, far too many times. To see it in my own son's eyes when a bunch of overpaid layabouts screws up yet again, because no one in either the front or back office gives a shit. If they can redeem themselves, more power to them. |

| reply to J E F F no question, i was so disappointed with how game7 ended .. but really now, even if the Leafs had won, they still have the same team needs to be addressed. they need to evaluate the season as whole, not just that last 11 minutes.
i think my 2 boys (19 & 21) have the right perspective .. they were so pissed on the ending .. but so enjoyed the thrill of the ride. overall, the Leafs played much beyond expectations which does bode well going forward with a few needed upgrades. my boys already can't wait for next season to start!!
.. cheers from Toronto |

Wolfie00My dog is an elitistPremium join:2005-03-12 kudos:5 | reply to J E F F Don Cherry was going on today about how the Leafs didn't choke at all, and he sort of has a point. The fact is, both teams were playing like blazes. Don's particular theory is that Milan Lucic was pissed off about the roughing penalty back in the second period and the big guy went into overdrive. He did indeed deliver the assist to Horton's goal that made it 4-2 and then scored himself to make it 4-3. Bergeron then finished it off with two more. |

| reply to digitalfutur Well, it was only part 1 of 4 of the playoffs, but yeah, they choked regardless. I have no idea how you give up 3 goals in such a short time. Not acceptable. Typical Leafs, though. -- If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. - Albert Einstein |

But I have to side with him....I think Tiger Woods is an idiot. As I understand it Tiger lost a LOT of respect with his handling of the Masters "issue". Many of his fellow pros thought he should have pulled out of the tournament.

I think it's very rare for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in years to go all the way or even make the Finals. There is a different mindset in the playoffs. You have to be willing to play every shift like it's your last. Take any and every hit to advance the puck. (Do you hear this Henrik Sedin!!!)

shanerPremium join:2000-10-04 Calgary, AB | reply to Wolfie00 I'm a firm believer that a team has to learn how to lose before they can learn how to win. Losing in such a way causes a team to understand that an extra gear or setting is needed. There will be Leafs today knowing what specific things they could have done to prevent such a melt down. You only learn these lessons by losing.
This is the youngest team in the league with a pretty solid core of players and a hard ass coach. This is not the last the league has heard from this bunch. -- I'm a man, but I can change. If I have to. I guess.
