squirrel83 posted : I have to say the tech dude came out yesterday and checked the wires and some other stuff. After everything he replaced the modem and I must say there is a noticeable difference. I guess I needed a new modem or maybe the modem need to be reconfigured.

My guess would be is that they're performing some sort of maintenance and during peak hours the channels are being saturated. My latency during gaming is unplayable: 500ms - 3000ms.

This speeds are super slow. I can't use Netflix or Hulu plus on my apple tv. Even the economist app on my iPhone is taking for ever to download the audio part.

I wouldn't mind at least getting 20mbps download, but 2 mbps download speeds are not acceptable.

I hope RCN could fix this problem soon.

If u get the dc site and want the NYC site ...go to upper left of webpage and select your city. Or just go to www.rcn.com/ny

I never had this problems when I had the 25 mbps tier. All my speed problems started when I upgraded to 50mbps/6mbps at the end of November last year. :huh:
