If you don't need the OS the Ubuntu version was a far better deal.

Wolfie00 My dog is an elitist Premium join:2005-03-12 kudos:5	reply to donoreo Vostro 2420 (14") Ubuntu $279 720p DLP projector $350 U2410 $399 Cheapest 14" laptop I've yet seen. I would have preferred the 15.6" for $299 but this is great for portability.
