Weird Caller ID issue

TheMole posted : I've been using voip for the better part of 4 years. i currently use VOIP.ms for termination and have an asterisk server behind that for all my inbound and outbound calls to my home.

i set my CID locally in asterisk by extension (as opposed to at via VOIP.ms's panel) as i use different outbound CIDs for different purposes.

this setup described above is for home use.

at work, we have a cisco system managed by our IT infrastructure team (I have no management responsibilities for that equipment). recently, they began migrating individual DIDs over from analog PRI lines to SIP (dare I say "SIP Trunks") via lightpath. the migration of my DID happened 3 or so weeks ago.

once the change to SIP occurred at work, calls from my home phone to me at work come up with a different area code, but same NXX-XXXX (local 7) number.

For example, if my home phone number is 973-555-5555, when i get a call from home, the number is 212-555-5555 or some other area code in the NYC Tri-State Area, I've seen 718, 917, 646, 212 areas codes over the past several weeks.

I have had no other issues with my outbound CID at home with calls to any other carriers/destinations.

My IT Infrastructure guys tell me that LightPath supplies all the information regarding CID to them, and that nothing is transformed at equipment locally here at work.

Any thoughts?
--
(1) It's either 99¢ or $0.99; not .99¢ (2) It's "so MUCH fun" not "so fun"
