[TWC] Hoocked my STB to my local network. Guess what?

I was goofing off and hooked my Cisco DVR stb to my local network, it has an ip and my PS 3 see's our recordings. Bummer though my PS 3 after some trying will not play them..

Just an FYI..

Interesting. Did you try it with a copy-freely channel (like a local/broadcast channel)?

they were all from local broadcast, Young and the Restless, Ask this old house, and Motorweek were the ones I tried. The PS 3 acted like it was going to play but stopped with an error after a while. It is simple not authorized, but I was curing my curiosity..

Edit for spelling.

Everything recorded is encrypted and only playable from that very DVR.

Copy-freely content is not encrypted. You can transfer it via the firewire port.
