Re: Dropping phone service from FiOS bundle

its usually cheaper to keep the phone then not have it

I wondered about that. More likely, the "double play" without phone is almost the same price as the "triple play" with it.

My 2 year contract just ended and I too am interested in dropping my landline. Don't really use it anymore. I don't see where you can go from a triple play bundle to a double play bundle online. If this can be done online can someone provide a link? Has anyone done this? If so, what were your savings?

Depends. All the new packages are Digital Voice now, and DV is not subject to all the taxes and fees that traditional copper landline had. With copper I was paying around $10/month in taxes/fees. With DV I think it's about $3/month.
