[WIN8] Win7 drivers on Win8

For some reason my motherboard does not have drivers out for Win8, only Win7.
Can I use Windows 7 64 bit drivers on Win 8 64 bit? Or will that cause a few problems?

I have heard stories both ways, it has worked for some, and caused problems for others. Probably only one way to find out...

I would highly advise NOT doing that. These are drivers you are talking about. What keeps the system stable.

Typically, yes. The kernel didn't change all that much and I've yet to encounter issues using Win7 drivers on Win8

Agreed. If you have 64-bit WHQL certified Win 7 drivers they should definitely work. If they're not WHQL certified but worked under 7, they should work fine.

I got most of the drivers for Win8 installed from Intel, Realtek and Creative. Only thing I can't find is the Intel Rapid Start and Smart Connect driver.

NVIDIA Driver Download options

File for both Win 7 & 8 x64

I know this is the case for my specific Video Card, which is a GeForce GT 220.

When I go to the actual NVIDIA download site, and put in the information for my card, it does not matter if I select the OS as "Windows 7 64-bit" or "Windows 8 64-bit" (See first pic).

When I go to download, the file that I get is shown in the 2nd picture, and is the exact same file for both operating systems. Once the EXE is unpacked, I notice there is no separate folders for a given OS (like Win 7, 8, etc).

That board is listed here
»www.station-drivers.com/page/asr···ndex.htm

But i see it take you to the main page not the MB page like the other, so the link is bad. But if you edit it manully it works.

So here it is

It looks like only about half of the devices have drivers for windows 8 at this time for that MB.

It looks like I got everything except for the Rapid Start driver and the Intel ME driver.
