It's too early to spend money on AC in my view. I also like to install Tomato on my routers, which isn't available for this model (yet). Buffalo generally has a good reputation for routers, but I personally wouldn't recommend this to anybody until it will at least run Tomato, and perhaps not until AC is finalized either.

There is a DD-WRT port for it - both the router and wireless bridge. I cant imagine Tomato would be that far behind

As for the standard - I was running 802.11n while it was draft with no issues
