If only AT&T didn't believe in data caps

AT&T - the leader in capping our internet services is announcing faster speeds, but what good are those speeds if those who would be interested and have a need for these speeds would be those who download heavily and stream lots of video? If the connection itself is capped, it defeats the purpose

If it wasn't capped and all those people downloading and streaming the network would be slow as fuck compared to just slow as hell right now.

Once again, there are no bandwidth caps being enforced on U-verse internet. You must be thinking of Comcast.

AT&T isn't enforcing a cap on U-verse? Is this true? What about legacy DSL?

Re: If only AT&T didn't believe in data caps

I can only report about U-verse internet which I have had for 4 years. No bandwidth caps or overage fees are being enforced. I have no knowledge of AT&T DSL.

Re: If only AT&T didn't believe in data caps

I had it for about that long and I download a lot of iso images from Microsoft and others for virtual testing. I never had an issue of a cap, I know I download 400gig in 1 month a few times.

My only complaint is price and well upload is a tad slow.

AT&T DSL caps are not being enforced in my area of Warner Robins, Georgia 31088. The measuring tool does not come up.
I get this statement instead:

High Speed Internet Data Usage Since Last Bill Details
Note: Your usage is not yet available for display. You should not be concerned about your usage for billing purposes. AT&T will keep you informed about your data usage via email.

A side note: Cox Cable is enforcing, in this area, the caps it has.

They have no viable way of enforcing it. I know I have hit 300gigs a month lots of times

You can repeat all your want -- they may not be enforced right now but they will eventually. They advertised these caps for a reason. The reason it's not being enforced now is their measuring tool is not accurate.

Oh, you work at AT&T and are involved in making decisions about enforcing bandwidth caps on U-verse internet?

I'm really not sure why you and people like you get all bent out of shape when someone says something about AT&T. The FACT is that AT&T has stated that U-Verse carries a 250 GB cap and DSL carries a 150 GB cap. They may or may not be enforcing it for whatever reason, but the FACT is that they have announced that there is a cap on those services.

Re: If only AT&T didn't believe in data caps

The FACT is that no bandwidth caps or overage fees are being enforced on U-verse. No amount of double talk on your part will change that fact. I don't know why people like you substitute facts for opinions and speculation when the facts do not support the position that you want to express on this from. You get bent out of shape when some points out that your statements are incorrect and present the actual facts.

You claim my statement is incorrect, yet my source is THE AT&T WEBSITE!

According to their website, they are enforcing. That, my friend, is a FACT.

Actually having the service as opposed to not having the service, I'm in a position to know what is happening with the service and you are not. That my friend is the only FACT that matters.

Re: If only AT&T didn't believe in data caps

Forgive me, I didn't realize that you had the service in every market that AT&T covers.

I'm really not interested in going back and forth with someone who clearly takes offense when something negative is posted about the service they use. Once again, AT&T communicates to customers that they CAP their service based on the data transferred. Whether they enforce that in every market or not is unknown, but they do clearly TELL customers that they do. I would imagine once they find a more reliable method of metering this service, they will surely enforce this in every market.
