Patch 5.2 - New Heirloom Items

Here is some more info off MMO Champion you might find interesting. Subscribing to them through google reader is definitely worth doing and not blocked by Websense (at least for me).

Patch 5.2 adds several new Heirloom items that scale to level 85. These are upgraded versions of current heirlooms and can be purchased with the old heirloom and Justice Points.

The Justice Points cost is the same as it is for the level 80 version. The new shields cost 2175 Justice Points.

Agreed. But like the shield addition. Any new PVP ones for honor I wonder.

So, in order to get an "up to 85" version of the "up to 80" heirlooms, you basically have to pay double the JP cost of the 80, since you buy the 80 then upgrade that to 85 with the same number of JP.

For some reason I don't see people jumping on this, unless they already have the 80 versions. I'd rather see a reduced JP cost on the upgrade, since you're only getting 5 levels out of it.

This just what it appears to be so far however, plus it's PTR, so who knows what it might end up at.

well if you've already upgraded you're blues and/or are wearing purples what else are you going to do with the JP.

the addition of a shield is pretty good in my opinion. i'm sure they'll have caster and tank versions.

What about an offhand for casters? Or does everybody use the stave?

There are SP weapons but until 5.2 there is no offhand. With the integration of BoA shields, at least holy pallies, and resto/elemental shammies will have a BoA offhand.

If you are a clothie, you will be better with the staff, so you don't have to keep an offhand up to date.

I wonder if it'll get to a point where you have an heirloom for every slot.

when they first came out, the only 2handed agi anything was the 2 handed mace... staff wasnt until 5.0 for monksters and hunters used everyweapon on game, even int bows
