If you had to recommend one PC game what would it be?

The year it came out does not matter. 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s... etc...

If the game came out 2004, and is still out now(2013), it could be the 2004 version of the game for example.

If it's F2P or P2P doesn't matter.

Assuming the person had never played a PC game before, and you don't particularly know what their taste is, what game would you recommend? IF IT COULD ONLY BE ONE.

and this one, would have to be the BEST OF THE BEST to represent PC gaming.

don't give 1,2,3... just ONE

Oh man such a hard choice between Deus EX and System Shock 2, but I'll have to go with Deus EX. The storyline behind the game really puts it over the top.

IF its to represent all that PC gaming is I would have to go for an MMORPG. That's what I feel sets PC gaming apart from Console gaming. Communication/connection to thousands of players on a server or playing field on pc is just greater. For this I would have to choose GW2. Graphics outstanding. Gameplay is nothing like a console game. Teamwork is seemless and PvP is to get in easy and out of. I would also recommend........WoW for first timers who have never played an mmo.

Baldur's Gate 2.

Best damn RPG ever. I still take out of the box to play it every year or two.

Planescape: Torment. When I finished that game I was really sad. I just wanted it to keep going. I've played a lot of good games over the years and a lot of good rpgs but none of them have held me like that game did.

I agree. If we're recommending a game to show off PC gaming, I'm going to recommend an MMORPG.

I would have to go with WoW. I'm not sure if I would say it's the best game I've ever played, but it helped define an entire genre, brought MMORPGs and gaming in general to mainstream world-wide acceptance, and has influenced (whether positively or negatively) pretty much every other game of that nature since it was introduced.

there's a difference between Vanilla WoW and current WoW.

I'm still thinking it over, but Vanilla WoW is pretty high at the top of the list. As well as Starcraft 1, LoL and Warcraft 1, Diablo 2.

mmorpg is right I think tho, because that's a huge difference than what console games can do

Jobbie is so awesome that he gets three! That's right; not one, not two, but three votes! He looked at one and two and found them wanting in the greatness that is Jobbie! Three is the only number that will serve the Jobbie.
