Indeed - it's why I laugh when I hear plans by Iran and other entities to create "their own" Internet.
Two other notables to your list:
Publication of the first Ethernet standard: 1980 (later becoming IEEE 802.3)
Deployment of the DNS: 1985
While Berners-Lee deserves credit for developing HTTP, none of the Internet as we know it today would be possible without Ethernet, TCP/IP, and DNS.
