In my case, T-Mobile seems too stubborn to upgrade their lousy 2G network in my area to something more up to date. I'd be quite happy to go back if they ever square that issue away. Downloading anything on an overloaded 2G network is pretty bad. Less than 50 kbits per second bad.

With all the sales they're making at the T-mobile stores in town though, they really should consider making upgrades soon.

Not only was data too slow or inoperable at times but my calls sounded like someone was underwater most of the time. Works terrific in the neighboring 3G/4G areas though.
