Brighthouse Lightning Router\Modem - Self Setup?So I chatted with BH customer service today and upgraded to RR Lightning with the understanding that the tech can do any wiring needed outside (if needed?) but I wanted to setup the modem\router myself. The CS agent told me this would be fine, the tech would simply deliver the router\modem to me and take my old standalone router. Can anyone tell me if this is legit? Due to previous issues with BH I come here for confirmation. If this isn't right, I'd rather just cancel the order and not waste my time or the tech's time.
BTW I requested this as we are in the middle of moving stuff around so the house is a disaster and I also work in IT so for preference I'd rather put the router\modem in bridge mode and turn off wireless on my own.

No he must connect the modem to our network, configure the wireless and verify levels before he leaves. If you want to configure it beyond that point yes by all means you may do so but the initial install he needs to make sure all is right. |
