 | I myself use pfsense and I am interested in this, however there's already plenty of packages that will show usage. I wouldn't trust Shaw's anyways. I'd rather track it directly on the firewall on my end. |

Using both is never a bad idea. |

I'd rather track it directly on the firewall on my end. I have both traffic info locally (I have another widget for vnstat2), and for Shaw, just in case.
As tlhIngan pointed out, Shaw uses their numbers for their traffic monitoring so I like to keep them both around for verification purposes (though Shaw's numbers usually lag by a few days, annoyingly enough.) |
