I have both traffic info locally (I have another widget for vnstat2), and for Shaw, just in case.

As tlhIngan pointed out, Shaw uses their numbers for their traffic monitoring so I like to keep them both around for verification purposes (though Shaw's numbers usually lag by a few days, annoyingly enough.)

Thats fine if they use theirs, I've only seen Shaw's under-report.

Your firewall gives you your traffic. Shaw's will tell you what Shaw thinks you've done. When they don't match, Shaw is going to use their number over yours.

Using both is never a bad idea.
