[FireFox] FF 18 sluggish,.........

Surfing is a little slower but the major problem is highliting text and copy/paste............there's a hesitancy of 4 or 5 seconds...bloody annoying.

Working fine for me.

I am running both XP and Win 7 no problems. Also both were updated with MS patches this morning and ran all day just fine.

Same here, Firefox slows down after long use in windows 8. Sort of like a heavy memory leak or something.

I have been running most of the beta versions of 18 and now the final and I have not observed any excessive memory usage or slowing down at all. Running Windows 8 on two computers and and I have FF 18.0 on both.

Well I just reinstalled FF17 and all is well.

I didn't install the Flash update or the Microsoft patch yet..........so I'll see if those had any effect tomorrow.

What a PITA though.........FF has the update automatically checked by default,so I had to unplug my modem to get it installed .

Keep us posted, I've never done anything as drastic as rolling back a Browser to a prior build due to issues.

... Good luck...

Ya this was on my XP desktop and my W7 laptop doesn't have a problem,so I'm starting to wonder if it was that Microsoft patch.

Will see later.

Which exact MS Patch are you referring to ?
You might try to FX re-reset, it's worked well for me.

I had some general application sluggishness on WIn7 Pro x64 after installing all those patches yesterday. Ended up rebooting a second time and the computer and apps including Fx v18 were fine.

Just booted into another user and FF updated before I could stop it,but it seems fine now...........so I'm pretty sure it was that patch that I didn't install again.

I've rebooted 5 or 6 times too.

There's definitely something wrong. The bookmark menus are very laggy after updating to 18. Task Manager shows Firefox using 10% of my i7-2600K when just moving around the bookmark folders.

Oh yeah? Where's this being discussed at? Because over here it's smooth sailing judging from the comments.

I had a problem with one of my browsers crashing ,so I just kept the prior flash dll and that solved it.

But FF seems to be back to normal for me.

I've got to agree with ZZZZZ. My FF 18.0 takes forever to load a page completely. For the first time I installed Chrome. Chrome is really fast, but I'm not used to it. That's the problem. I'm more familiar with FF.

Well crap it's back.......damn it.

It's a slight hesitancy when clicking a login menu or reply ,the cursor doesn't show up for a few seconds..........copy/paste has the same problem, when replying to a post.

This is only happening in FF and only started after doing the 18 update.

I can second that.
Sometimes the cursor takes a long time to load and I've already been typing before I notice.
Real pain.
But it was like that the past few versions also.
I notice sometimes flash player really starts sucking power after having live streams going for awhile
