Help with Verizon DSL. Driving me crazy. Customers for over 10 years. Always got 3mbps down. Last 3 weeks getting very bad pings and slow downloads all the time.
Tech came and no problems with my line.
So they sent a new modem. To another address!!!.
I know it's not the modem's fault. It's been over 3 weeks now. I just want my internet the way it used to be.

I received the modem yesterday. Set it up and my speeds were fast again.
This morning, the speed are back down again. With speedtest, the max I am getting now is 1.5Mbps down and 0.3Mbps Up.

looking at that, your speeds seem to be in sync ok, although downstream margin could be a bit higher, it's not low enough to be causing major speed issues.
my two thoughts are that you're either experiencing congestion, or your line is having provisioning errors (different from sync issues). i would suggest calling the regular verizon number, and asking them to reset your provisioning. failing that, call 1-866-376-3216 press 0 for high speed internet technical support presidential appeals. They will ask for an appeals case #, but may pull up your account without one if you ask.

I called Verizon about 9 times in total to get this resolved. Each time was 45 minutes call. About 20 minutes on hold + the time talking to them.
Congestion was the issue it seems. I got a new modem, but even my old modem is working fine now.
The new Actiontech modem seems to give me better speed. About 40-50kbps more.
