Samsung tvs

I am looking into getting another tv since I will be moving soon. Right now I have a 40" Samsung 1080p tv. I love it and would buy another Samsung.

The problem I am having is that it seems Samsung only makes tv's with 3 HDMI ports. I have yet to find one with 4 HDMI ports. Right now I am fine with 3 HDMI ports, but in the near future I would need 4. I have looked at a few Sony's and they do have 4 HDMI ports, but I was never a fan of Sony. Do you guys have any recommendations on a tv? 46-50" is the range I am looking at with a price range of $1k-1.2k.

Or maybe invest in a simple HDMI switch?

A lot of reviews have them as hit or miss. A lot of people also complain that they do not work with 1080p devices. There is also a lot of handshake interference.

Interesting. I assumed that an HDMI switch would be similar to say an AVR with HDMI inputs -- I've had zero problems with our AVR with multiple HDMI inputs and am only using one HDMI input on our TV.

Well I did some more research and it seems that you need a specific HDMI cable if you are going to use a switch. Monoprice has a good video explaining this and my guess is many people do not research before buying HDMI switches.

Here is the video if anyone is interested

A quality HDMI switch will work as well.

Or in a Home Theater setup, all devices connect through the AVR.

For the HDMI Switch I was looking into this one.

It has good reviews and doesn't need to be plugged into an outlet.
