I 'member when....

Hunters had mana.
Stratholme was a 10 man raid!
Jumping on the gnome planes in Ironforge waiting for your BG to pop.
Queueing for said BG from a Battlemaster.
Dueling in front of IF.
Kiting Teremus the Destroyer to Stormwind.
Watching Maydie PvP videos and being awestruck.
Running from South Shore to the Scarlet Monastery.... without a mount.
Using trade chat to get a 5 man together.
Forors Compendium of Dragonslaying!
Anal [Skill]
Going to bed during an AV, waking up and it was still going on.
Swing your axe and then FROSTSHOCK!
Needing more DOTS.
DKP.
Being a Paladin was embarassing.
Fight 2 mobs as a warrior was challenging.
Epic World PvP outside Black Rock Mountain.
Epic World PvP in Eastern Plague Lands.
Greens with fire resist were worth money.
Everyone had Beastslaying as their weapon enchant.
Weapon Skills.
Master Wu Ping, teach me how to use an axe.
BoAs meant enchanting white weapons and armor.
The Deadmines was the most beautiful instance ever created.
Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker was a hunter weapon.

Having to stop at every flight point between where you are and want to go. It used to take almost 30 minutes to fly from Winterspring to the Crater.

No mounts to level 40.

When hunters had control of their pets and having a rare pet came with special stats IE ol' Broken Tooth and The Rake having 1.1 Attack Speed.

Day long battles on the bridge in AV.

I remember when
... hunters needed ammo and had special bags to store them in, that gave a bonus
... running out of said ammo in the middle of a dungeon
... hunters had to feed their pets, otherwise they were unhappy and performed poorly
... running on foot from the north end of Stranglethorn to the south end at Booty Bay took 15 minutes
... Warsong gulch was not timed, and did not end until one side capped the 3 times
...

Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker is still a hunter weapon. EVERYTHING is a hunter item.

I remember waiting for a UBRS key.
I remember not having Paladins in my raid (horde).
Battles at XR (Alliance Scum).
Wailing Caverns made you cry.
Fighting the same people in BG's.
When they first introduced BG's.
Lagforge.
When the only AH's were in IF and Org.
Getting my first epic ever and it was purple (Giantstalker Gloves)!!!

And we only ran battlegrounds against the other faction on your server.

Having a PvP title meant something and having to bust your ass to get into the Officer's Club so you could get that sweet, sweet gear.

I remeber seeing the first High Warlord on our server. I wanted to give him all my silver.

When summoning a Doomguard took a 5 man group, and 1 person to be sacrificed.

When the summoned Doomguard would wreak havoc at the Crossroads, until nearly everything in it's path was dead.

Because your world revolved around just the server you were on (before battlegroups) there were very few defections from one faction to the other and if you did you were an outcast.

Having a 30 minute battle with a paladin with my hunter waiting to drain all his mana with Viper Shot. They didn't hurt you and you couldn't hurt them until their mana was gone.

lol, Viper Shot. I forgot about that.

I remember fighting Paladins and using Drain Mana on them. Once their mana was depleted, they were fucked.

-- you had to dismount (or you got dismounted-I forget) when you talked to a vendor

-- on that fist toon, getting that first mount seemed almost impossible to pay for

-- leveling up weapon skills

-- having to talk to a Battlemaster to get into a BG

-- "fast" mount at 60

I remember when:

-I accidently wandered into WPL at level 34 and aggroing a bear from about a mile away.
-Downing Ragnaros for the first time and almost having my hearing blown out.
-The opening of the AQ gates and on the prep that went into that.
-Getting into heroic dungeons was really easy because everybody needed a mage
-Friends listing every good tank I ran across because good tanks were hard to find.
-feeling like such a boss when I completed my 8/8 Netherwind set
-"Let the games begin"

I remember when:

•Hunters had quivers
•Said quivers needed to be stocked with bullets or arrows
•Said hunters ran out of said ammunition and had to melee.
•Hunters had to tame different pets to learn all the different abilities.
•Players had to run to all the capital cities to learn weapon skills.
•Weapon skill needed to get leveled up or you couldn't do much damage.
•Leveling took foreeeeever.
•Paladins had to auto-attack for first 20 levels
•Paladins had to refresh their seal every time they judged
•Shadowpriests were nothing but mana batteries and everyone wanted one.
•Pots were unlimited uses during fights

I remember having to log in 30 minutes before raids so I could conjure water for the entire raid.

I remember doing the quest for the "good" water.

Pally refreshing after every judgement
Trying to remember the fp from x - y and messing up
Beating on bears outside TM to raise my weapon skill so I could use my new axe
Skipping the warlock's 60 mount quest because it was too time consuming/difficult (yep I wimped out on this one)
Starting with a Tauren and killing beasts that didn't drop copper and wondering how I would ever afford the 10s 6 slot bag on the vendor.

For rogues, I remember:
- You could blind a pally through his bubble
-Bloodfang set was a red recolor of shadowcraft.
-Perditions/Corehound Tooth was the shit
-suppression room in BWL
-AR was on prep with mace stun = PvP god
-SWIRLY BALL

- Rogues had to level up lock-picking manually, and having maxed lock-picking actually meant something beyond that you were max level

- Rogues had a separate faction they gained rep with that was rumored to eventually lead to an epic quest, but never did

- The original hunter and priest epic quests for Anathema/Benediction and Rhok'delar/quiver

- Having to get "keyed" for Molten Core, and then needing the one time use Aqual Quintessence to douse flames, meaning seven people running to Azshara every week for a new one

- Running LBRS/UBRS/Scholo/Strat hundreds of times trying to complete class sets or trying to get something like Dalrend's swords

- When feral druids were mostly a novelty that could neither tank very well nor dps very well

- Already mentioned, but when hunters' pets were unique and had different abilities, like the wolf Lupos doing shadow damage

Rogues had to carry not only poisons, but mats to make each poison and use thistle tea to regen energy.
Combat rogues with dual maces pissed off everyone in BG's.
No DR's on PVP stuns
Running with guildies for their warlock and paladin mount quests.
Saving up forever to get 1k gold for epic mount training.
Having to do questlines as a warlock for demons and having to fight said demon to control it.
Opening the gates to AQ and seeing some gnome mage on the black bug mount in IF later.
No totems in raids
Keeping a rezzer way back out of combat to battle rez the dead in 40 mans
Not having much of a life outside of WoW as I played enough to have the Knight-Commander title and ran UBS, LBS Onyxia, ZG, BWL, MC and AQ.

-Being an enhancement shaman and using a 2-hander with windfurry.
-Locks could soul-shatter combo you to death (if geared)
-Rogues were the most hated class
-PVP in arathi highlands
-Getting my warlord title on my shaman
-Fighting the bosses in AV
-Fighting on Alliance bridge because it was such an advantage
-Knowing who to avoid in AV
-Knowing who to attack at all costs in AV
-Developing a sharing system for High warlords on the server so everyone got the gear
