Re: [Hockey] Official 2013 Vancouver Canucks Thread said by Styvas:Here's my dad's take on the team. What do you guys think of this analysis?
Gilles should be but will get one year on short leash. Ask Dad why he would let the single person responsible for this useless group of individuals keep his job? That I don't get, the rest I can accept. Giving him another year on a short leash accomplishes what? Another lost year with a new coach, same bunch of players he showed all kinds of loyalty to and they treat us to this crap? They all gotta go. Some sooner than later. GM & Coach first then we get into the departmental groups, scouts etc. There is a serious infliction in Canuckistan that needs drastic steps to correct this ailment or we become the west coast leafs. At least the fans are staying away sending the right message they've had enough of this B.S. -- Some hero's wear capes, mine wear combat boots. |

Re: [Hockey] Official 2013 Vancouver Canucks Thread said by Styvas:Here's my dad's take on the team. What do you guys think of this analysis?
My take: Sedin line has crested the glorious mtn., particularly Daniel and Burrows. Slow descent begins. Kesler still strong but very injury prone. Higgins okay, Hansen just doesn't have hands/finish. Roy not worth money he wants as free agent. Raymond won't be signed and shouldn't be. Kassian needs to grow up before we see what kind of player he'll be. Projection--3rd liner, another Taylor Pyatt. Booth gone. Keep Lapierre, dump the rest, start over. On blueline, Bieksa seems to have reverted, Edler has glaring deficiencies, not much better than Ballard but obviously coach's fav. Hamhuis and Garrison okay. Ballard is gone, Alberts/Barker are pylons. Corrado/Tanev nice second pairing. Schneider no better than Luongo but younger and cheaper. Coach AV is gone, Gilles should be but will get one year on short leash. That's pretty well my take on the team also except I would keep Burrows as I think another coach can re-motivate him.
I have tried to be fair with AV but I'm beginning to think it's time for him to go.

Yup,it's pretty pathetic.
Edler and Bieksa are the culprits again........it never ends with these 2 clowns.
Sedins were invisible except for losing the puck ,just like Raymond.
AND SOMEONE TELL ME AGAIN WHY THEY TRADED FOR ROY......talk about another useless cog.
And the saddest part is who do they start in nets now .........so they can blame him for another loss. -- Sarcasm is the bodys natural defense against stupidity. |

Could be interesting.
FaxCap It appears it was interesting. WTF? This goalie thing at this juncture of the season is ridiculous. Is it just a distraction for the level of mediocrity of the other assembled bufoons? Lost 5-2, now the Sharks are up 3 games to none. S-W-E-E-P! Kill this shit and lets move on!! -- Some hero's wear capes, mine wear combat boots. |

| reply to Thingamajig Yup 2 players stood out,Luongo and Kesler........and the rest never showed up.
Edler and Bieksa are the culprits on the winning goal again.
This is how well I know this team..........with 5 minutes left I bet my buddies, that Luongo or a D-man would mess up and the Sharks would score late to tie it up.
I'm $60 richer this morning and I actually cheered when Torres scored.
If they don't fire Gillis and Vigneault after this debacle ends .........I'm no longer a Canuck fan.
How do they have the balls to charge $300 for tickets to watch this garbage? -- Sarcasm is the bodys natural defense against stupidity. |

| reply to Styvas Kesler played his butt off and some of his teammates let him down. Can't fault Luongo...he's doing his job....forwards can't score.
The Twins look like they are going through the motions. They look like they can hardly wait to pack up the wives and kids and head to Sweden for the summer.

With the new rules in place the contract has become more toxic, and you're not going to win a stanley cup when you keep giving the guy indicators you don't want him there. they could use one of their amnesty buyouts, available after the season is done...they simply hand over a suitcase full of cash (equal to the remainder of the contract) and set him free as a UFA. -- People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

 | reply to yoyomhz Who's 'the'?
The irony of Raffi Torres getting the OT Canuck killer at least is putting a smile on my face.
Kesler was HUGE for about 30 minutes mid game. If only there was a 60 minute version the outcome would have been different. I thought some of the other bums on the Canucks might have tried to emulate his play. Maybe they are already at maximum velocity.
Tough loss. They're done. Sedin on the tying goal was pathetic. I've seen fish flopping out of water looking more business like than that embarassing display. -- Some hero's wear capes, mine wear combat boots. |
