Kardinal Dei Gratia Regina Premium join:2001-02-04 N of 49th	I think it's a combination of two things: His skills are starting to fade a bit and because he's not the fastest skater it's becoming apparent more quickly than if he was more than a one-trick pony (set him up and he shoots), and He's a one trick pony. If he's not being set up for a one-timer, he's not really all that much use. He's not a grinder to get the dirty goals close in, he's not going to get a breakaway, and he's not going to force a turnover in the offensive zone. He's not going to get another contract like his current one. Six year contract and he's on his third team on that contract (Ottawa, San Jose, Minnesota). He's still making $7.5M a year, but he won't be after this contract is up at the end of next season. What's really startling is that he's only just had his 32nd birthday and he's been on the decline for at least the previous two seasons as well.
