Re: [Hockey] Official 2013 Vancouver Canucks Thread

Well Canucks are always slow starters... But there isnt time for that in a short season.

There's quite a few teams starting slow........makes you wonder if they can get it together,at all.

Caps are the team that I think will falter badly this year.

Took Ove in my pool and am regretting it right now.

Well, that just means that the playoff races will be crazy, with all the 3 point games... Most teams will probably be in it right until the last week.

Good game so far, other than the first couple minutes, against the Sharks. They dug themselves a considerable hole out of which they've got to climb. Schneider's playing well. The first two goals were definitely not his fault, and Marleau's an unfortunate deflection by Garrison.

The 1 thing positive about this shortened season is with so many games ..........teams won't have time to dwell on bad games.

They're right back at it tonight against the Kings..........if they can't get up for that game, there is something wrong.

That's AV's game plan...........back to back games,he changes goalies.

I still think AV is gone this year if things don't improve...........we'll see.

He can take Gillis with him too if the boot is to be given. He gave Lougongo the outrageous contract.

The count stands at three 2-0 leads blown so far. They played like they didn't give a sh*t in the 3rd.

There doesn't seem to be any real spark to the Canucks this mini-season.

Not a canucks fan but I'd give it 10 games in before making that call. If it were a regular season, usually it takes month for teams to start geling and building stamina and getting used to each other. Just because the season is shorter doesn't make it any less true this season.

There are many teams not gelling yet. There was no preseason, one week of training camp, and the season isn't even two weeks old yet? lol.

What a farce this team is!

Another 2-0 lead ,then they sit back and can't get that insurance goal.........stick some bodies in front of the f-----g net!!!!!

Then of course they allow that late goal as usual, miss a few chances in OT........and then comes the dreaded SO.

WTF is AV thinking sticking Edler in the SO..........where the hell are the 2 highest scoring players in Canuck history.........sitting on the fucking bench..........ludicrous

Does Pitt bench Crosby or Malkin..........or for that matter does any team not have their best forwards taking the shots.

And Burrows has one of the best moves of any player in the league and he does this freaking ballerina spinarama.

Total BS.

Lou is starting. Have to showcase him in order to move him. I have no issues with this.

I'm not liking the Edler/Garrison paring for the power play. Too much defensive liability right now as they both suck using their sticks for anything other than a fan to cool down the sweaty opposition. Watch for them along the boards when they are out together. It's painful.

I kind of wondered that myself.

All in all I will be sad to see him go. He was a good team man...good
in the dressing room and would gladly stay behind at practice if the
young guys wanted extra shooting.

All he's lacking is a killer instinct. Those 2-3 saves it takes when
everything is on the line. But he'll help some team get into the
playoffs. Can he take them all the way is the question.

I don't think Lou is just being showcased. the Season is too short to play silly buggers. On basis of play Schneider has been average. Its one thing being a competent back up, its another to be "da man". Cory, as I've always said, is still unproven both in the regular season and in the play offs.

I don't know that its just Lou. Seems to be a team theme. Not one of them seems to elevate their game when something important is on the line. No one stands up to rough house shenanigans. Big games. The team is all pathetic. Coach? Atmosphere? Management? Doesn't matter, it's sorely lacking. The current Canucks are wimps in more ways than one. Question is: When is it going to addressed?

The advantage of Lou is showcasing him is actually beneficial to the 'Nucks right now. Schneider has been hit or miss, whereas Lou's been consistant.

Well......3-0 Canucks.....Luongo gets the shutout and looked solid as
a rock doing it. Kassian, 5 goals in 7 games.

They were playing against air, dressed in Avalanche uniforms. I would charitably define their effort as efficient. Luckily we are in the sad sack Division where we can get in the play offs by just waiting for Calgary and Edmonton to lose.
