All that Leafs fans ever ask is that their team deliver like they really care. Much, much, too often that has not been the case. Trust me, I've been there, at the ACC, in person to see the bitter disappointment, far too many times. To see it in my own son's eyes when a bunch of overpaid layabouts screws up yet again, because no one in either the front or back office gives a shit. If they can redeem themselves, more power to them.

i think my 2 boys (19 & 21) have the right perspective .. they were so pissed on the ending .. but so enjoyed the thrill of the ride. overall, the Leafs played much beyond expectations which does bode well going forward with a few needed upgrades. my boys already can't wait for next season to start!!

I think it's very rare for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in years
to go all the way or even make the Finals. There is a different
mindset in the playoffs. You have to be willing to play every shift like

There will be Leafs today knowing what specific things they could have done to prevent such a melt down. You only learn these lessons by losing.

Not true. In 1986 in game 6 of the Campbell Conference finals, the Flames led the series 3 games to 2. With 12 minutes remaining in the 3rd period the Flames were leading 5-2. The Blues won 6-5 in OT and forced a game 7.... The goal was scored by the late Doug Wickenheiser. Blues were coached by Jacques Demers & the late Barclay Plager (one of my all time favorite Blues)...

This 1986 Flames vs Blues was an elimination game. The Blues adverted elimination...

Agreed. Few would have believed at the beginning of this series that it would be decided in game 7 OT. They provided some great hockey, and much as I love to hate the Leafs, they're doing some things right for a change.

Also nice to see the badmouthing of Reimer cease. I think at one point in this series he was running a save percentage of around .975. The badmouthing is now being directed to Phaneuf, which is fine with me. :D

And weak. He's known for the big hits (I didn't even see any of those except his game 4 fail), but in the crease or down low he doesn't move anybody they just go about their business. Franson and Gardiner are supposed to be soft and they played way tougher.
