Kristopher I got a 4 Premium join:2002-10-11 Tyrinaria kudos:4	Good. Very relaxing. It was unfortunately in the teens most of the week, so squirrels stayed in their dens. I was able to hunt over a Beagle, and he got on a few rabbits, but wasn't able to flush them. Did a lot of deer tracking, and found some areas where they bed, and approximately which brush they travel through. That'll be good info for next year's season. Did some work at my Grandpa's one day as well. He's 90, so I go up frequently as I can to help out on his land. He gave me his long-guns for keeps, as he can't hunt with them anymore. There was a Sako Finnbear 30-06: A 12 gauge pump Remington Wingmaster 870, 16 gauge Savage Arms single shot, 10 gauge Mossberg with a 2 shot clip and full choke, and finally a Carcano Infantry Rifle: The Carcano is Italian in design, but has the stamp showing it was manufactured in Finland. It doesn't have a clip, or bayonette (not that I need that), and requires non existent 7.36 millimeter rounds. That one I just cleaned up really well and put away. The others I cleaned up and fired, then cleaned them up again. Spent a good deal of my late mornings, early afternoons at the local sprotsman's club. Also got my wife to fire her first guns. There's an indoor .22 range at my club, and she fired my scoped bolt action. She did very well, and had fun. Most importantly, she is no longer afraid of guns. She was confident enough to go on the pistol range and fire .38 caliber bullets out of the .357 snub nose, but it was too cold to stay out for more than a couple loads. I made a dumb mistake when I first fired the Finnbear. I was under a pavilion, and had been hunting all morning. Had a knit cap on, and for whatever reason (I blame the cold) forgot to put in earplugs. I fired that thing and my ears rang all day. Needless to say, earplugs went in immediately for a few more shots. All in all, I had a very relaxing vacation at home, and got to spend my afternoons and evenings with the family. I don't want to be back here at work, but at least I'm re-energized. -- Play DSLr Mafia: »Pub Games
