[TV] On Demand - Premium Movies ReducedNoticeable reduction in the number of movies available. Is this intentional or a system problem? Both the movie network and encore show only 2 screens to scroll through. Previously it took me 10 minutes to scroll through the collection of movies I didn't want to watch. Seriously though the content available now is pretty poor ... hope this is temporary. I might actually have to do do something with my free time. |

At closer look ... it would appear all the non HD movies have disappeared. |

Also experiencing this, and also in Burlington. Pretty frustrating on a Friday night, not getting a fraction of the content being paid for. |

I called them up this evening. The first tech was pretty rude, and essentially said the service was working fine and refused to look any further as his local service was fine. The second was nice and forwarded the information to people who can take a look at the issue, said a window of 48 hours would probably fix it.
If this isn't an error, and this is the level of content Cogeco is going to be providing for TMN now, looks like the bill is going to be $22 lighter next month. An $8/mo subscription from Netflix offers more than TMN VOD currently has. |

Thanks for the update digiwth. Good point about Netflix.
I'm was hoping this is a temporary issue, especially as this is the 10 year anniversary of VOD. But as I look at the selection of movies for a fee, I'm pretty sure that some of the movies that were free are now listed as $3.99. |

The content on TMN including OnDemand has gotten lighter. Fewer new top releases and more older movies plus more repetition of said content. The only thing keeping us from unsubscribing is HBO and other shows only available via TMN, but that will change soon.
Perhaps if Cogeco focused on providing value instead of buying cable providers in Portugal or the US or buying network infrastructure companies like Peer 1, it wouldn't be struggling. But instead we have to put up with never ending price increases even though network infrastructure costs have been falling. It's time to end the whole Phone-TV-Internet debacle. At the end of the day, it's all data. And that data costs pennies to transmit. |

Comparing TMN.ca to what I'm currently getting, TMN VOD currently has 18 titles in A-Z vs the over 100 listed on the website. Pretty unacceptable.
The first tech I got also said then when a movie is listed as being OnDemand it may also be on Cogeco's online VOD service, and not on cable, so I guess we're expected to cuddle up around a PC to watch it. And enjoy paying bandwidth for watching it too, since that service isn't un-metered and still counts towards your monthly data cap. |

Ain't it great to pay twice for content. |

Funny you mention the online service ... I too went there and noticed that the missing movies were now online. I would prefer to watch movies on my home theater system. Well Cogeco ...thanks because you've forced me into finding the content through other means. |

Hello all, Just as an update, this is not an intentional reduction of content. We are aware of a large number of TMN OD titles missing from the menu and are working to correct them as quickly as possible. |

I have the LG Smart Upgrader, have HuluPlus on it, Netflix, Cinema Now and VUDU...cable TV is quickly becoming obsolete. I used to have TMN, what a waste of money. Right now I can get it for 70% off, but even that is too much money. I'd imagine these guys a bleeding customers, but they need a different setup to keep their current customers happy. |

Thank you for the update Marcer, I'm glad to hear this is an error and not a cut of content. |

Jeff ... Out of curiosity ... How quickly do you chew through your bandwidth? I've thought of doing the same but the bandwidth limits frighten me. |

You can change the settings on Netflix to be 300MB per hour, or 700MB or 1GB per hour. If you do HD, you will go through you bandwidth quickly. With HuluPlus, not sure if you can change settings. So far I've come very close to my max (140GB) You could try it out and just keep and eye on bandwidth and see if it is worth it or not. |

So, content appears to be recovering today. Checking at home I have 180+ SD movie titles between TMN & TMN Encore On Demand. Can't speak for the other systems, but I'm sure if the content isn't there now, that it should be appearing shortly. |
