Centurylink equals constant packet loss

I'm an avid gamer. I play multiplayer games every night. Thankfully there hasn't been any service interruptions in a long while but I have constant packet loss. It's not major packet loss, like 25-50% for example but it still affects my gaming experience.

Here's an example. I send 30 packets to the server per second and it sends 30 packets to me. That's 60 packets. I'm not sure what size they are but the max bandwidth allocated is set to 30KB/sec. That's not very much at all. Out of these 60 packets, I'm losing about 1-3 every second. That's about 5% packet loss. I was even losing 10 packets at a time at one point last night which is about 16% loss. What gives? I'm not using a lot of bandwidth. The only time I don't lose packets is when I'm routed to a West Coast gaming server. But then I have high ping. Fix your network Centurylink.
