Network Error (dns server failure.)

At DOS Prompt:

1. nslookup dslreports.com

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: dslreports.com
Address: 209.123.109.175

2. Insert 209.123.109.175 into web brower's URL pane where dslreports.com was located.

mostly for over seas webpages.

If your MTU value is set to 576, this may eliminate pages not loading on some overseas sites. Years ago, you had to reduce MTU value to 576

Hi DrStrangLov.
Thanks for your help.
I reduced my MTU to 1400 no go and then to 576 and still no change. My original MTU was 1500. I am running the WB proxy. This problem started after i had to re-install my OS Win 7 64 bit.

MTU...WB proxy...re-install my OS Win 7 64 bit.

Dos Window with admin privilege

netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces

Examine MTU setting on left, then

netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Local Area Connection" mtu=576 store=persist

Wildblue Proxy - Via FireFox, might see if FoxyProxy Standard 4.1.1 will over-ride WB's proxy.

I assume you setup WB proxy via their program, if so, look at comment there via "solution for firefox18 problem"

Use this site now, to see what IP you are using: »/whois

What overseas site is giving an issue?

Its not a "problem," its an "issue" created by those clueless programmers in Redmond, who think they are so "smart." They have had since Windows 3.1x days to figure it out, but what did you expect from Redmond?

Change default DNS timeout value in your OS to a longer time value, and the "issue" disappears.
