This update for Internet Explorer 6-8 will be made available through Windows Update and our other standard distribution channels. If you have automatic updates enabled on your PC, you wont need to take any action. If you applied the Fix it released in Security Advisory 2794220, you wont need to uninstall it before applying the security update. | said by StuartMW:Just got it for IE8 on WinXP via Windows Update. Got it for IE6 in that old OS. It did require a reboots for two XP SP3 machines. What about your IE8 in XP?
My two 64-bit W7 SP1 machines did not need reboots with their IE8. -- Ant @ AQFL.net and AntFarm.ma.cx. Please do not IM/e-mail me for technical support. I just noticed my 64-bit Vista HPE SP2's IE7 needed a reboot from it. :/ -- Ant @ AQFL.net and AntFarm.ma.cx. Please do not IM/e-mail me for technical support. | reply to antdude For those that have just patched, it is suggested that the FixIt be removed post patching, assuming you had applied the FixIt, per MS13-008 quote: However, the Fix it is no longer needed after the security update is installed, so we are recommending that you uninstall it after you have applied the update to your system.
