With the exception of the very first run of 2210s years ago that overheated and died, they replaced those and I haven't had a problem since.
And as you said, I only use it bridged as I have never really found a combo that did what I wanted.
I know the 3347 group of modems seem to be OK for the business class service but I never had much luck at home. I fooled around with them but only for an exercise.

Actually, your old Motorola 2210-02-10NA was a modem/router combo device, and pure bridge DSL modems are somewhat scarce. I have in the past successfully used a Zoom 5615 bridge modem with BellSouth/AT&T DSL service. As I recall, the only thing I had to do was to go into its admin pages and set the VPI/VCI to 8/35 so that it did not take several minutes for its autodetect logic to get a good sync.
