 | Need non-buzzing 120mm fan Unfortunately, I have found that some 4-wire fans make an annoying buzzing sound when used in the PWM mode. Any suggestions for a fan which doesn't have this condition?
The Rocketfish (Best Buy house brand) 120mm fan does not buzz, but the quality isn't the greatest. I would like something which is better-built.
Thanks for your suggestions. |

 | We've had issues with DC motors making some *really* awful noise when driven with a low duty PWM at the right frequency.
I have several Dells with PWM fans, and I never had any buzzing issue with them.
If you can control it, you can try to change the frequency of the PWM, or put in some simple inline filter (RC or LC) circuitry. -- Wacky Races 2012! |

* Noctua (personally used 120mm, 92mm, and 80mm) * Nexus (personally used 120mm and 92mm) -- these are supposedly rebranded/slightly-modified Yate Loon fans * Scythe (personally used 120mm and 92mm) * Yate Loon (personally used 120mm) -- Making life hard for others since 1977.
