No character customization through gear. Your toon will look the same from level 1 to endgame unless you are able to get a reskin. There is a combination of instanced zones and community zones, with the instanced branching off of the community ones. You turn in gear to level up your vendors. You don't get anything for the gear when you do this but vendor xp. Talent system is something similar to TL2, three tabs, each work differently and grant abilities/upgrade them. The game feels like it was created for children around 8 or so. No strategy, just run around and keep killing things. The lack of any gear strategy besides getting stats and the fact that you never change your appearance was a major turnoff for me. Hell, you don't even have different weapon looks. Not impressed, there is a forbes article that highlights some of this already.

Skill trees for each hero will be complex and varied.

Even if you have the same skin as another wolverine, your wolverine will be very different, and play different, based on your talents points. And have different usable skills.

free to get, free to play, MMO, 26+ heroes which each play like their own class, with MANY skins for each hero

i don't know how you can have a Marvel game without it being somewhat rehashed character wise from other games

I think they were smart not to try to match DCUO... this way the games truly are VERY different and not competing with one another

That's not my point. I am saying those 2 games are literally the same. Just what, more depth in Marvel Heroes? Marvel Ultimate Alliance was just, eh. Got boring pretty quick for me.

running dungeons with group will be awesome... start off with hulk... and then when you get to the boss you can switch to a support hero to help your group

THE LOOT DROPPED IS SPECIFIC TO YOUR ACTIVE HERO, and all loot is instanced to you

you can grind dungeons with your geared toon, swap to an alt toon at boss and get gear from the boss for your alt

Besides the Heroes focused portion, Marvel Heroes is VERY different than DC Universe.

DC is more like WoW.
Marvel is more like Diablo.

DC you make a hero/villain who takes orders from Batman, Superman, Joker etc...

Marvel you actually play the hero. Don't think you can play villains.

they were very smart to go with diablo style IMO for this game, this way there is no direct competition with DCUO

- Has aged graphics and cartoony style but its ok because he can run on any machine.
- He doesn't upgrade because he is still the best thing out there so he says.
- He still has more subs then all f2play games combined therefore he is still the greatest.

When they sold out to Activision, they can no longer control creative direction or "not releasing a game until it's completely tested". I used to respect Blizzard enormously for their insistence on quality, but now with a public company pressing for results, that ain't gonna happen anymore.
