 | "Latency Outage" (oversold) in Ashtabula Ohio Our 3Mb connection has been pretty much useless for about a month now. During peek hours we get around .1Mb Connection on what is supposed to be a "up to" 3Mb Connection. Tonight is particularly slow with a whoping .01Mb. I'd post a screenshot, but now its so slow I can't get speedtest to run. I've contacted tech support and each time I get a date further out for the "repair" with the latest one being 4/30/13. I've asked for credits and the best they would give me is 10.00 off ONE months bill. They say they cannot give me anything else because I am technically connected. At these speeds the connection is worthless other than for writing this post.
I am trying my best to find an alternative. Even If we can't we'll probably still cancel as the connection is useless. Hopefully Zito Media will pick up the slack soon, there is potential in this area to get allot of people to switch with the right marketing... |

 | reply to jimbo921 Can someone on here from Windstream please look into this? As it is now we cannot use our internet service. We do not have TV service and rely heavily on the internet to stream. At these speeds that is impossible. Is there nothing that can be done to fix our connection? |
|
 | Finally got a response:
"At this time, our network engineers are determining the best course of action to alleviate the bandwidth issues in your area. We do not have an ETR at this time."
Basically it says, yes there's a problem, but we really don't need to fix it right now. |
|
 | reply to jimbo921 Loosely translated, that response means: "Our engineers know what the problem is and how to fix it, but the accountants won't let them spend the money on the fix." :-P |

 | reply to jimbo921 funny competitors cable modem back haul goes over windstreams network ashtabula county and pings to Google are generally 30ms.
was shocked to see that while dsl is 300-500 but remember they say dsl isn't shared like a cable modem
I personally believe the problem must be the manager or engineers they hung fiber last June still not operational ???
maybe Aaron can help
is western pa still crippled?
I'll bet the management said there was no demand for internet (thats what i found working up the chain early 2000s) some remotes are still being installed with copper uplinks in the last 3-5 years really?? so network still isn't built or upgraded they procrastinated and can not can't catch up. oh they keep advertising cloud services, if we could only get to the cloud |
