Correct, well in D3 areas. www.start.ca/services/highspeed

Wish I could keep my current Pro Tier pricing and get the new Pro Tier. Even if there is a 50GB usage reduction, I'd take the additional speed if the price was the same.

Definitely not worth an extra $20 and losing 50GB to get that speed though.

So torn...

I'm confident that the CRTC will come out with favourable capacity rates soon enough.

I ordered the 30/2 400GB package before the changes and would like to know if I'll be grandfathered even though I won't be activated until the 25th.

decisions, decisions...i would definitely go for the new pro tier if the usage was still 400gb....as is, its a tough decision...hard to resist the speed though ....

I second this! I too would sacrifice the 50GB for the extra speed at the previous Pro price. Seems that would be a good "compromise" package for us grandfathered 30/2/400ers. Wonder if Rocca would consider such a tier.

All confused..(Again)
Currently on the 20/1.5 300 gig plan at 49
I realize I am grandfathered. Rumor has it that if a favourable outcome from CRTC comes then the caps will be raised back up.
If I hold out from changing anything, what comes of us then.
Do we automatically go up to the 30/2 300(guesstimate) for 49 or will we remain at the 20/1.5 300 and get a price reduction.
Not sure whether to move up to 30 now or wait for the outcome.

I suppose its nice of Start to call and leave a message saying youve been upgraded, but maybe they should wait.

After unplugging the modem, redoing dhcp, blahblah, still not upgraded.

Will still give it a couple days though.

EDIT: LMAO, modem rebooted couple times on its own within 5 minutes of posting the above and now getting the speeds. LOL.

Correct, although it's hard to speculate exactly what impact it will have until we see it.

Though this doesn't exactly pertain to the topic at hand, thank you Pete, for being so active on these forums. It's just one more reason that sets Start apart from normal businesses. It's nice to see an owner that cares about the 'business' as opposed to just making money.

Also unrelated, 4-channel bonding seems to have made it's way to my area of Kingston, am I right to assume that Cogeco is testing/rolling out new upstream capabilities? Inconsequential to me either way, I'm just enjoying the four very pretty blue LEDs on my desk.

Thanks!

Those blue lights sure are bright aren't they? Yes, that's a good sign of upgrades coming.

Kitchener and 4 Mbit up indicate that test is from the Red side of the network.

I really can't say that even 32\1 plan i was on wasn't enough for me.

I am not bandwidth hungry, so, i don't care much about 50 GB less on my account.

Wanted to see how this will work, is my place able to do this kind of speeds, thats why i requested a profile change.

First test was done from Laptop (WIFI) and this is from Desktop:

Yep, so far so good.

Hopefully it will stay that way.

I hope that there will be no local node congestion problem because of this "upgrade" for both Start\Rogers customers.

I recently upgraded to the new Advanced package from the old one. When I initially was switched over to the new plan, I got close to 3Mbps upload, if not around there. But now I just can't get past 0.97Mbps upload. My download seems to be fine but my upload is horrendous compared to what it should be. Would someone from Start be able to take a look at what's going on with my connection?

I have posted my speed below.

try posting your line stats from your modem, it could be your upstream isn't using multi-channel mode for some reason.

They are available at 192.168.100.1 - try resetting the modem first though (hold pin in back 15 seconds) and also go direct to modem and see if you still have problems. Thanks!

Has anyone here got the 45/4 service in Kitchener? I'm looking to switch from Teksavvy to this, since I'm having some issues during peak times currently.

Would it be any different? I'm not sure where the choke point is.
