However since I just ran a speed test last week I know this to be false so I pulled up speakeasy's test and told him that no, I'm actually getting 10-12mb down and take your crappy ADSL and f*** off.
This got me interested in why 2wire is misreporting, seems they were purchased by Pace Americas, an equipment wholesaler and service bundler for ISPs. So be it known that 2wire is not a viable speed test, it is simply a gimpy tool for DSL merchants to scam you out of your good cable service. stick with speakeasy or DSLReports speed tests if anyone tries to tell you your speed is not good. |

Only gives the Download. My testing varied from 0 to 176Mbps
I'm on 65/35 (I think). Here is a valid test on wifi.

I see what you mean! Pace/2Wire claims my current download speed is a mere 8.5 Mbps; roughly half of what my "crappy ADSL" actually delivers:

Either they're throttling bandwidth from outside certain domains or they're in a pretty congested area on the Internet.
Their speed test: 2.6 down.
Actually: 5.2-5.3 down [per Speakeasy, speedtest.net, etc.]
I'd like to see someone with FiOS try it, so we can figure out whether it's throttled or congested. |

I will run it from my home FiOS of 75/35 later when I get there.
