mikev posted : Ok... so I live in a condo building and have had FiOS since I moved in a few years ago. Love the service! But I want more speed.

The setup for the building I'm in, from what I know about the unit and comparing to the specs I've read, looks like there are currently two Tellabs 625 BPON boxes in the building phone room. These support up to 8 VDSL1 and TV users each, with up to 16 voice lines each (2 per dwelling). With these boxes, the maximum internet service tier I can get is 20Mbps/5Mbps. But I want to go faster than this.

Each unit has a single coax, a single Cat3 cable, and two Cat5e cables. So an Ethernet connection is possible from phone room to unit. But I think I'd just be happy with an upgrade to the faster speeds of VDSL2.

The question is... what needs to be done to get Verizon to come out and upgrade their hardware to GPON so that my neighbors and I can get faster service?
