[DVR] Comcast still using DCT6412s for new installations?

I recently moved from one Seattle neighborhood to another, having had Comcast for many years. I recall taking my old DVR in to the service center and swapping it out for a DCX3400 at least 3 years ago.

I wasn't on hand when the installer came at the new location, but was surprised to see he had installed an old DCT6412 (which I think is the model I returned back in 2009), which has less than half the capacity of the 3400. I'm sure I can take it in and swap it out as I did before, which is a bit of an annoyance, but does anyone know if it's SOP for Comcast to use these in new installations?

Basically, they grab whatever is on the truck, or available from the service center.
