Why are they being allowed to keep the licenses?

"It should be noted that Rogers was barred from participating in the auction for that wireless band because Industry Canada felt they already had too much of an advantage in the market".

Given this ban, why are they not being required to divest themself of the Shaw licenses as part of the approval of the deal. It looks like Industry Canada is falling down on the job here or has been paid off to look the other way.

They should be stopped before they purchase all the independent isp's. Switch and stop their profits from rising. No subscribers, no chance of takeover of certain companies (tech - isp). Speed increase is useless without data cap increase. Like getting a fast car and driving on a 2 kilometer length freeway. Enough is enough.

The deal hasn't gone through yet. It is still subject to approval from the competition bureau, crtc and industry canada which isn't likely to happen until next year.
