Issues with using own router

I am switching to Fioptics later this month for internet and TV, and I am starting to get concerned that the current setup that I have will not work with Fioptics. From what I can tell, it will be FTTN.

My router is configured to support my VPN and home security cameras. Should I be concerned that my current setup will not work?

The ZyXel modem/router can be placed in bridge mode *but* if you are using the IPTV service then the router that you use needs to support IGMP proxying.

How is the ZyXel?

My current router is rock solid.
I am not sure which will be more of a hassle, copying everything over to the ZyXel, or setting up the proxying.
