50/25 to 75/35

Switched the speed plan. I was getting 59/33 under old plan and now 80/33 under new. Upload didn't change at all. Is this consistent with other users upgrades?

This is consistent with my 75/35. If you are using Speedtest.net it is highly dependent on site and time of day.

I cannot always get the Upload to that high, but sometimes
and some sites.

I get that speed typical and then some sites I test
I get like 1-2MB download - what the heck is that?
Should never be that slow.

Thanks for the reply. I expected to get some fluff with the upload but it stayed exactly the same as my previous tier.

Just did the verizon speed test and did a little better. Guess Im satisfied. Btw, only had to pay 5 bucks extra a month for the speed bump resigning for 2 years.

@verizon.net

I get a kick out of the "fluff stuff" that people mention. Lets remember that Verizon only guarantees the stated speed, not fluff.

Im all for threads regarding speed when it does not equal to "what they are paying for" , but this fluff stuff, forget about it ....

I wish I was getting fluff on my upstream. I went from 25/25 w/Extreme (was getting 30/25) to 75/35 w/Prime, and now I get 84/34. The 84 is nice, but the 34 bothers me slightly.

This is with a wired PC, btw.

I was also wondering when I was on 50/25 my upstream was in 39mbps range and now it's 35 , but I guess what they advertise is provided so can't complain.

Vz won't let me upgrade my speed without losing Freedom Essentials phone. Digital voice isn't for me until they get rid of 1+ area code for local calls.

75/35 Speed test
They haven't changed anything ... 84/39 on the 75/35 tier here

I should mention, I'm on gigabit Ethernet WAN/LAN using a "G" router. If your on MOCA , your higher ping will show a bit lower uploads

Is it 1+area code? or area code? Not sure about New York. It was a nuisance going from 7 digit dialing with FE to 10 digit dialing with DV. After a couple of months, most of the time it's automatic.

I don't have to do 1 first.

Good question, I'm not sure. I just assumed that the "1" was required.

10 digit dialing. No 1.

I got 84/43, the extra upload fluff may of been due to having double play with FiOS TV which I heard can be the case.
