[Television] Recording Illico HD

I have the Illico HD service and their set top box, but not the recording capability.
I'd like to record my HD TV programs but their HD PVR is way too expensive.
Is there a less expensive simple way to record my Illico HD TV programs in up to 1080i quality?

I've been using an Hauppauge HD PVR box to record in HD quality (with 5.1 audio) on my computer :

You simply plug your Illico to it with a component video cable, and an optical cable for the audio. It will record up to 1080i in h.264 format.
I highly recommend it.

Buy a used PVR or go buy one at Costco, then sell your HD terminal.

then sell your HD terminal.

therein lies the problem
i hate process of selling/looking for buyers...

if anyone wants - i have a like new mint condition Illico HD latest generation, used it for a few months, bought it from videotron for $200 (box, papers, all), will sell for $120

The HDPVR is sold for 300$ at Best Buy this week.

You paid 200$ for an HD terminal (sold for 150$ this week, same store).
With a 100$ difference, I don't see why you complain the PVR is too expensive...

Kijiji works farely well. You post a description and you wait for someone to contact you...

Worst case scenario, you can always keep it for a second TV or sell/give it to a friend.

If I keep the Illico set top box for the second tv - can I still have the Illico HD service on the second Tv without paying extra to videotron?

I think I will buy a Illico HD PVR and use my current non-PVR on a second TV in the bedroom - will I be able to have Illico HD TV on both tvs without paying extra monthly fees?

On your TV bill, you're already paying 3$ for network fees.
When you add a 2nd terminal, you'll pay 4$ more.
If you have 3 terminals or more, it'll be 6$ instead of 4$.

So, if you rarely use the bedroom terminal, you'll be paying 4$ for nothing. Maybe this will be interesting when multi-room will launch.

Is there an easy way to connect the second terminal without paying extra monthly $4?

Nope. Antenna is the only way to watch HD content on an HD set without any terminal.
