Re: New optik setup (I have an ALU) - recommendations for setup

I use an ALU and a Netgear WNDR4000. I have DD-WRT on my router, but out of the box even, there's an option for IGMP proxy. Make sure that's checked, and your Optik TV should work.

- works for me, but standard disclaimer, it's not supported by TELUS, so don't call in for help if it causes blood to rain from the skies, your pets suddenly go insane, etc.

I may work for, but do not necessarily represent the views and beliefs of TELUS Communications.

Yes but Mikrotik RouterOS is a bit more involved in its setup. You need to allow IGMP traffic, as well as traffic to the multicast address range, and tell the IGMP proxy which subnets it is allowed to forward to/from.

Switches capable of IGMP snooping are obviously optional.
