How quickly everyone forgets. AT&T had capacity issues with the iphone from the very first release. They're still trying to unlive that experience.
Given that iphones consume more data than any other, and each successive generation consumes more than its predecessor, somebody has to apply the brakes to curb the i-ego crowd from once again bringing the network to its knees.
