Windstream posted : I have Dish, bang for the buck it is a pretty decent product. I have never had any problems with the exception of a micro storm taking the dish off my roof a couple summers ago (in fairness I lost part of the roof as well). May make sense to look into. In some cases it can be bundled with your internet service to save a few extra bucks.

Aaron
--
We're here to help! wci.broadbandhelp@windstream.com

DarthPrime posted : I had Time Warner for TV for awhile (their services are expensive in my area... in my opinion), but dropped service and went with an antenna/Roku setup. I also stream stuff to my computer with Hulu, YouTube, etc... The HD quality going from Time Warner to my antenna was very noticeable. When I visit a neighbor now that has Time Warner I can instantly notice how grainy the picture looks compared to my antenna setup. I guess Time Warner is really compressing the signal here.

Anyway I've had a few issues with Windstream speeds in the evening lately, but other than that its been ok. Sometimes I miss not having my cable and DVR for a couple shows, but I don't miss having the monthly bill at all.

I would say if you can currently stream HD content with Netflix, or some other services with your current Windstream setup, and live close enough to get your locals with a antenna (or don't mind a outdoor antenna), to give it a try.
